Basic Facts About Ghana
Ghana formerly know as Gold Coast a name given by the Portuguese in the later part of 15th century when they arrived on the coast in their search for gold of which they found in abundance and decided to name the country after her rich natural gold. Ghana is located in West Africa along the Gulf of Guinea on the Greenwich Meridian, sharing borders with Burkina Faso up north, Togo to the east, the blue Atlantic ocean at the south and Co`te d'Ivoire to the west. Ghana measures about (238,537 sq km) on a rectangular landscape, with a population of (21.1million).
